Unbilled Charges
The Unbilled Charges report shows transactions recorded as billable expenses that have not yet been included in an invoice — helping you track pending billable items, ensure no revenue is missed, and manage customer billing. Only transactions marked as billable expense income and not yet invoiced appear.
What the report shows
Customer name, transaction date, transaction type (Billable Expense Charge), description, amount, balance, and total unbilled amount per customer.
Viewing unbilled charges
- Go to Reports → Unbilled Charges.
- Select the report period.
- Optionally filter by a specific customer.
- Review transactions grouped by customer.
To identify unbilled transactions: look for the Billable Expense Charge type, verify the transaction isn't linked to any invoice, and review the pending amount under each customer.
How it works
Pulls billable-marked transactions, filters out those already linked to invoices, groups by customer, displays amount and outstanding balance — and updates automatically when items are invoiced (invoiced items drop off the report).
FAQs

What happens after I create an invoice? The transaction is removed from the report.
Partial billing? Depends on setup — partially billed items may still appear.
Why is a balance negative? Adjustments or the accounting treatment of that transaction.
