Tag Report

The Tag Report analyzes financial data by the tags assigned to transactions — grouping activity across departments, projects, locations, or custom labels. Only transactions with selected tags are displayed.

What the report shows

Account categories (Income, Expenses, Assets, etc.), tagged transaction values, totals per tag, comparison values (if enabled), and filtered financial data based on tags.

Viewing the Tag Report

  1. Go to Reports → Tag Report.
  2. Select the report period.
  3. Choose All Accounts or specific accounts.
  4. Select one or multiple tags.
  5. Select the accounting method — Accrual, Cash, or Modified Cash.
  6. Review transactions and totals grouped by the selected tags.

Comparing tag data

Select a Compare Period — Previous Period (PP) or Previous Year (PY) — to see $ Change and % Change.

How it works

Pulls transactions, keeps only tagged ones, groups by selected tags, applies account/date/method filters, and displays totals per tag and account. Only posted transactions are included; the report is a filtered view and doesn't change accounting data.

FAQs

Will all transactions appear? No — only those carrying the selected tags.

Project tracking? Yes — tags can represent projects, departments, or any category.

Why is my data not showing? No transactions with the selected tags, incorrect filters, or no activity in the period.

Can I export? Yes; filters can also be cleared/reset to see full data.
