Customer Summary Report

A consolidated view of financial activity per customer over a selected period, summarizing totals from transactions, invoices, and journal entries linked to each customer — for understanding customer-level contribution, monitoring trends, and analyzing performance.

What the report shows

  • Customer-level totals — summarized values per customer from transactions, invoices, and journal entries.
  • Period-based view — data grouped by the Display By option (e.g., months: Jan-26, Feb-26).
  • Total column — overall total per customer across the selected period.
  • Positive vs negative — positive values are income/receivables; negative values are refunds, credits, or adjustments.

Configuration

  • Report period — any custom date range.
  • Display by — months (other options if enabled).
  • Account filter — specific accounts or All Accounts (default).
  • Customer filter — all customers or selected ones.
  • Tags filter — tagged transactions only.
  • Compare period — Previous Period (PP) or Previous Year (PY), with $ Change and % Change.
  • Accounting method — Accrual, Cash, or Modified Cash.

How it's calculated

Data from transactions, invoices, and journal entries is aggregated per customer, with all selected filters applied, then grouped by the display selection. Only customer-linked entries are included.

Actions

Save / Save As configurations, Export for offline analysis, and Comparison view for trend analysis.

FAQs

Why is a customer not appearing? No transactions in the period, filters applied, or no linked entries.

Why are some values negative? Refunds, credits, or adjustments.
